Annual Installation and Banquet, 12 December 2026

Lodge Star in the East No. 640 will hold its Annual Installation on Saturday 12 December 2026, followed by the Installation Banquet.

The most important night of the year

At the Installation, the Right Worshipful Master-elect is installed in the Chair of the lodge, and the office-bearers who will serve alongside him for the coming year are invested. It is the night the lodge hands on its leadership, as it has done each year since 1879.

The ceremony is followed by the Installation Banquet, with toasts and speeches in the Scottish tradition.

Visiting brethren

Brethren from any Grand Lodge in amity with the Grand Lodge of Scotland are welcome. Please write to the Secretary as early as you can with your name, lodge and Grand Lodge, and tell us whether you will join us for the banquet, so that we can plan for numbers. The Secretary can give you the time, dress and other details.

Thinking of joining?

The Installation itself is for Freemasons, but if you are thinking of becoming one, this is a good time to get in touch. Write to the Secretary and we will arrange an informal meeting with some of the members. How joining works →
